We would like to welcome you to Clive. Our growing prosperous city is located at the hub of a thriving suburban area which lends itself to convenience and a relaxed living atmosphere.
The City Council and Mayor represent the City as political leaders and are responsible for adoption of the city budget and determining the tax rate, enacting legislation and general policy making decisions on behalf of the community as a whole.
The City Council meets on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall, 1900 NW 114th Street. One of the first items on each agenda is the Citizens' Presentation. Concerns may be brought to the council at this time. This portion of the meeting is designated for topics and concerns not on the agenda. Comments are limited to no more than two minutes during the Citizens' Presentation.
Clive is governed by a Mayor and five Council Members who are elected at large on a non-partisan basis. Regular City Elections are held the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November during every odd numbered year. The routine administration of city business is carried out by an appointed City Manager and the city staff.
